Chiropractors Should Connect with Their Communities

One of the biggest challenges that chiropractors face is convincing people that they can offer a legitimate, effective technique that has scientific evidence to support it. There is a lot of misinformation in the world about what chiropractors do. While you might prefer to ignore those biased stereotypes, refusing to address the subject head on could have negative consequences for your business. Chiropractors who have recently opened practices in new areas have particularly difficult hurdles. At the same time, though, they have a great opportunity to educate the community about what chiropractors do.

Offering free services at events is one of the best things that a new chiropractor can do. It not only educates the public about chiropractic treatments, but also instills trust between the practitioner and the community.

Volunteering Services to the Community

One of the best things that you can do is volunteer your services with a local sports team. It could be anything from a university baseball team to a little league team. The important thing is that you get out there, meet people, and teach them about your craft.

Over time, people will become more interested in what you’re doing, especially if you offer treatments in full view of the audience. Say, for instance, you volunteer your time at a little league association. You show up with a chiropractic chair, and you offer spinal manipulations to parents while they watch the game. Not only do you improve your image by service the community, but you also attract new clients by showing them how effective chiropractic can be.

Volunteering your time at a local school is another great idea. Most schools have scoliosis exams to check students for early warning signs. Chiropractors are perfectly trained for this. It only takes half of your day, and you get to make sure that you spot scoliosis in children before it develops into a serious problem. These types of events also attract the media. If you’re there providing screenings, then there is a good chance that you can get your face on TV. That’s a great educational opportunity for you.
