Herbal remedies in your kitchen

When it comes to finding everyday medicine, you don’t have to look much further than your kitchen. People regularly use fresh and dry herbs in their cooking but they easily forget the medical benefits of these herbs. You can improve your dietary supplement and heal wounds and bug bites with some of the everyday commonly used herbs. While some are well known and used by many as everyday medicine, other herbs are used more for flavoring but they too have medicinal value. Some of the best medicine is found in our own kitchen and turn out to be inexpensive, while pharmacy medicine can get a lot more expensive yet have similar results. Here is a list of four items you can find in your kitchen for home remedy use.

1) Onion – Onion during a slight burn or even a bee sting can come in very handy. Cutting an onion in half and rubbing it on the burnt area or bite area will start the healing process. Poison in bites can be controlled or even neutralized with the chemicals in onion.
2) Cayenne pepper – Cayenne is not as spicy as the regular red chilly powder and has many health and dietary benefits. Often you hear about celebrities using cayenne with water and lemon for body detoxification. You can also sprinkle a little cayenne pepper into your gloves and shoes to keep worm during winter. A little cayenne sprinkled on minor cuts will also help stop the bleeding.
3) Sage – dry sage is known to help with sore throat. You can simple use a couple of teaspoon with worm water and gargle for several minutes. You can also make a worm soothing drink with sage and a little honey.
4) Rosemary – rosemary is high in antioxidants and it is also known to help boost your memory as well as help people with low blood pressure.
