Processed foods and conventionally grown food, as we all know, contains less minerals and vitamins that naturally grown fresh organic food. You don’t have to take my word for it, just do a little research on your own and you will come across multiple studies to help you see the benefit. It is a healthy and often chemical free eating choice that more and more individuals are beginning to accept. Leaving alone the nutrition factor, I feel that organic food tastes a lot better and is a lot more valuable than adding various supplements to your daily diet.
Chemically grown food items are more often swelled and improved to look better, last longer on shelves, and weigh heavier. Most of this is because chemicals used will increase the water content in these foods where as organic food is a little smaller but with a lot less water. When compared by the weight and nutrition, organic food has lot more minerals per pound and a lot less water. Their shelf life may be a lot less but then again who does not want to eat fresh produce. Chemicals used in growing conventional food have a lot more pesticides and as a result you are actually taking in a lot more chemicals than you bargained for. Organically grown items limit these pesticides which is turn is healthier for your body.
Children are in more of a need than adults when it comes to organically grown food. It is better for their immune system and with their physical development. You want to limit the amount of foreign chemicals going into their body. Many of the chemicals from non organic food can cause various medical problems down the road. Study showed that children eating organic food had one sixth the amount of toxins and pesticides in their urine than children eating conventionally grown food.
